Q. What fundraisers are offered this year that count directly towards my athlete’s $500 requirement?
A. More details to come on these…Lift-a-thon (May), Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser (June-July), West Ada Raffle (August-$50/ea). Remember, the Fundraising requirement is due by the END of the season. Any remaining balance will be added to your athlete’s account & needs to be paid directly to the bookkeeper. Balances left on athlete’s account will jeopardize grade advancement & graduation.
Q. What happens if my athlete does not participate in the fundraising or does not fundraise their $500 required amount?
A. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE families to participate in fundraising that starts in MAY. We give multiple opportunities to raise this money. In the event that your athlete does not fundraise the full amount, the remaining balance will be added to your athlete’s account & needs paid directly to the bookkeeper by the end of the season.
Q. What is the Boise Open?
A. The Boise Open is a PGA golf tournament held at Hillcrest Golf Course every year. They also have 3 nights of concerts that always sell out. Joe & Rene Ozuna have children that graduated from Centennial & they have contracted with the Boise Open to run all the parking organization for the tournament (not valet parking, just directional assistance). Instead of hiring employees to work the event, they offer it to Centennial programs to cover the shifts & the money is paid to our programs. Total amount of the contract is $20K + tips. If football can cover all the shifts, the entire amount goes to our program.
Q. When is the Boise Open?
A. August 10-16th
Q. How do I sign up to cover my shift at the Boise Open?
A. Make sure you complete the parent registration (above) & follow the Patriot Club Band group and as soon as we receive the official signup (beginning of July), we will post it & send it out via email. ANYONE WHO WORKS A SHIFT RECEIVES A CONCERT PASS (even if it is sold out), A SPECTATOR GOLF PASS & T-SHIRT!! Breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks are also included depending on when your shift is.
Q. Does my athlete personally have to cover the Boise Open Shift?
A. No! We do encourage 10th-12th graders to cover their own shift (coach is working on the possibility of getting it released as it’s the first week of school) BUT it can be a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc. as a proxy. They need to be 15+ years old, assertive, and able to stand or sit outside for the duration of their shift.
Q. How do I sign up to volunteer to help the program be successful?
A. Make sure you register as a parent/guardian with the QR code at the top, complete the player registration on our website & follow the CHS Patriot Club Band group!! Attending the Club meetings is very helpful & informative as well! If there is something you already have in mind as a way to get involved, please reach out directly to our board at patriots@centennialfootball.com
